Others at the table tried to do the same but not all of them could control airsteam and laryngeal musculature well enough to accomplish this simple little feat. But when I was an undergraduate and has occasion to refer to Sbisa Dining Hall, I always managed voice-onset of the vowel so that there was a clear [sb-] cluster. Maybe I don't really speak English and need some EOL. DMLance
