I'm using the St Martin's Language: Introductory Readings. (there's

a new 5th ed.) ... (I miss the Bickerton article in this edition.)

Bickerton has a new and provocative contribution in the 5th edition, titled

"The continuity paradox." His original essay in the 4th edition has been

replaced by a contribution by David Crystal, titled "Pidgins and creoles,"

which I find rather shallow and out of date.
