As Robert Ness suggested, popping one's fingers is a gesture known in
the Caribbean too. I can't tell you for sure if that term is used, but
when I grew up in Jamaica the gesture was comnmon among children and
young people, often accompanied by raised eyebrows and opened mouth,
as an expression of surprise but sometimes directed at others, as in,
"Oooh, someone's gonna get it!"
    Jamaica, of course, has strong cultural and linguistic links
to Ghana.
