The whole appliance = stove.

The oven = stove or oven.

The hot, round things on the top = burners.

The general space on top = top of the stove.



The other appliance = refrigerator. I guess I must have heard somebody

say "ice box" at some point during my childhood, although I don't associate

that with anybody I remember. I know my parents said "refrigerator." I

think my grandparents also (or at least the two of them still living when

I was born), although I may be wrong about that.
