Subject: womanist and feminist

Beth Simon says "womanist" and "feminist" are not synonyms.

I would like to know what the distinction is, and where/how "womanist"

originated.

Working from the meanings of "woman" and "feminine," I can come up

with a logical distinction. But I don't think "womanist applies to

female human beings, feminist to females of all species" is what Beth

had in mind.
