And thanks for the new word, "invigilating" -- no modern dictionary I have
has it, but OED cites the first instance in 1559!
it's just the british word for "proctoring". (check a british
dictionary--it's still in use!) first time i heard it, i thought it
sounded obscene, but then i thought a bit more about "proctoring"
