In Russsian the term 'medbrat' (an abbreviation of 'medicinskij brat' - medical brother) is used quite oficially. The same in Hebrew: 'ah' (brother) is a term used for a male nurse. While in Russian, speaking about somebody's profession, you never say just 'sister' or 'brother', in Hebrew it's quite normal.
