Subject: sixes and sevens

There is a definition//etymology for the phrase "at sixes and sevens",

meaning disorder and confusion, in William and Mary Morris, Morris

Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins (New York: Harper and Row, 1977)

p. 30. The origin is supposed to come from a dice game and is

recorded in Canterbury Tales.
