Born/raised KY, in NC last 3 decades--

I have heard this all my life, but more in NC than in KY; assume it is from

surprise (I had a mental picture of its being spelled 'sursie') which is

sometimes said as 'susprise' when in this context (the only one in which

I have heard it):

One wheedles in order to obtain one, or promises one as if placating a

young, fond, foolish recipient - or intimate, in a teasing manner.

I assume it could also be used as a jocular-ish semi-threat, as in 'I'll

give you a __' ˘if you don't watch out/be careful/stop doing X...)
