<br>resource by a fellow ADS member, namely Safire's New Political Dictionary
<br>(Random House, 1993) by William Safire.

<br>It does not obviate the need for OED, DA, DAE, DARE, etc, but see
<br>
<br>yellow dog Democrat: an unswerving party loyalist; used only as a compliment.
<br>(Safire then goes on to explain how the negative term "yellow dog" became
<br>positive in terms of the 1928 Presidential election.)
