No one has mentioned the pronunciation of 'risin'. The spelling would seem to

indicate a high central vowel, while my grandmother (west Georgia) always said

it with a schwa in the final syllable. Another of those words of hers I had

not idea how to spell until I became a dialectologist.



By the way, y'all and others sent too much mail while I was away last weekend

and I was "disusered" acc. to the information services guru. Is this in use

elsewhere?
