Unlike text files (e.g., e-mail), binary files (executable programs) can contain viruses. I'm not especially paranoid on that subject and have certainly downloaded lots of binary files from lots of ftp sites and other places through the years without any problems, but I would not download an unsolicited binary file sent to me by a stranger. --Natalie (maynor[AT SYMBOL GOES HERE]
