My grandmother said it (b. 1898, rural west Georgia, small farm). It was another of those things she said that was not easily interpreted by me as a child. It was years before I could analyze it morhpologically as stew + er; I imagined it as steuer or something, I guess. One of those words one rarely encounters in writing.
